I found this video depressing, because I can't imagine how things will change for these victims of barabaric rule.
Somehow, International human rights groups should step up and do something on behalf of these women. It's outrageous that this goes on, and we stand by watching.

Well then it won't happen. If there ever was a time for Christian missionary's, this is it - go forth and start converting!

I wonder who is killing the little girl babies? The mother, or the father? Those babies could be placed for adoption. It is barbaric.

The sacrificing of children predates written history. I believe it was done to appease their gods.

Killing of female babies also happens in some parts of China where quotas on the number of children a couple can have is strictly enforced. Having boys is preferable to having girls.

I've done several quilts for families adopting the Chinese babies. What these poor families are put through--I can't even imagine. Don't get me wrong, I think adopting the babies is a great thing, but what the Chinese govt requests, and the length of time they take with the process would blow your mind. I've done quilts for people that had already been through the health inspection, home inspection, financial inspection, and had been approved, and were still waiting two years for the Chinee to call them to come get their child. They are called at the last minute, and have maybe a month to purchase the plane tickets. Then they have to PAY the Chinee to tour China for like 6 weeks, and only then can they get the baby. Again, I think it's great, but if we would stop aborting our babies here, we wouldn't have to pay the chinee for children. Or, it would maybe make the process faster. Same thing with the pok-ee-stan babies. If these children are not wanted, there are soooooo many families that would take them.

What about all of the American natural born citizen babies and women that are denied the 'citizenship legacy' of being acknowledged as 'American natural born citizens'....?.... any sympathy for them....? and all of their parents whose 'citizenship' are told the significance of their citizenship ends with them....?

Excellent thumbup.

I'm in favor of American charity beginning at home. We shouldn't be in a position to cure all the problems of the world at our own demise. The world would be a better place when taught by example handed down to us by the Founders. The US needs to be the shinning city on the hill for all the world to emulate. Imposing our rule on others always backfires.

NOW mentions FGM, female genitalia mutilation, on their website, but not which religion does it. Since it puts the woman's very life in jeapardy, wouldn't you think the pro-choice crowd would be screaming about this practice.
What do they have against a woman enjoying sex?

Quote:
FGM involves the cutting and/or removal of the clitoris and other vaginal tissue, often under unsanitary conditions. It is practised in at least 28 countries globally. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) estimates that up to 140 million girls and women around the world have undergone some form of FGM.

It is practised extensively in Africa, and also in parts of the Middle East and among immigrant communities around the world. According to medical experts, it causes physical and psychological complications, as well as heightening the risk of HIV/AIDS when unsterilised instruments are used

I wanna say the mutilation thing came out a while back, and I believe it is mostly practiced in Africa. Again, it is the mothers that force this on the daughters. There were lots of African women that came here, and they are really against it. At the time, the women were all over TV doing interviews.

They speak of fighting their mothers, and the village women holding them down and forcing the procedure on them. It has been so long ago, I don't remember if there was anything accomplished in the countries that still perform this procedure. Barbaric.

I watched a program on African women, not so much the FGM, but they would pound on their breasts to keep them flat, so they wouldn't be appealing to men. If they got married, they would never have the education and future, their mothers hoped for them. FGM is totally different, and I believe a muslim thing.

Read the stories...it's really horrible the price people have paid in a fight against oppression. I commend those who have and are fighting for freedom all over the world. I believe in fighting against world oppression and the Marxist socialist leader we have in power, who obviously doesn't get it.

Yall should see the current issue of Time. (No, I don't read it, but there was a copy in the kid's PT office, and since I'm sitting there every other day, I read it....) Anyway, it shows a really beautiful Afghan girl, with her ears and nose cut off by Taliban because she ran away from her in laws. Totally horriffic.

I wouldn't buy the magazine, but if yall are somwhere you can read it for free, look for it this week.

How could they possibly think this is approved of by their religion or Allah. It's beyond comprehension.

She was a ravishing beauty.
I don't supposed the muslims will be pleased with this coverage.
